Downloading the 024Nester trial requires nothing from you: no name, no email address, no account, no registration form.

When the download button is clicked we add one line to a counter (a database hosted in the EU) holding only the country and city Cloudflare reports for the request, and the time. We do not store your name, email, IP address or coordinates, and there is nothing in that line that could point back to you - it exists so we know roughly where 024Nester is being tried out.

The application itself

024Nester runs on your computer and keeps your work there. It contacts our authorisation server when it starts, when it first reaches each of three points in a session (parts loaded, a layout computed, an export attempted), and when you save or export. Each time it sends the same short set of facts: a machine identifier, your licence key if one is installed, the product version, the operating system name and the interface language.

The machine identifier is a one-way hash of your hardware - it is what a licence is issued against, and it cannot be turned back into your name or address. We record, per machine identifier: when the program was first and last started, how many times, how far each session got, the version, the operating system, the language, the country of the connection, and the licence status. We do not store your IP address - only the country Cloudflare reports.

Your part files, layouts, exports and file names are never uploaded. We use these records to enforce licences, to see that installations work rather than fail silently, and to support customers; they are kept while the installation is in use and for up to 24 months afterwards. Write to [email protected] to ask what is recorded for your machine identifier, or to have it deleted. The full wording is in section 7 of the Licence Agreement.

Analytics

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics: privacy-friendly, cookie-less measurement of anonymous page views. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track you across other websites.

Contact

Messages you send to [email protected] are used solely to respond to your inquiry, and are kept no longer than needed for that. This is the only place where we ever see your name or email, and it is entirely your choice to write to us.

Your rights

We collect no personal data through this website, so there is normally nothing about you for us to hold. Where we do hold something - the record kept against a machine identifier described above, or an email you have written to us - you may ask us at any time what we still have, ask for a copy or a correction, or ask us to delete it - write to [email protected] and we answer within 30 days.

If you are in the EU, the UK or Serbia and believe we handled your data improperly, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
